Trends and More Trends

WAIT!

I'm not gonna talk about trends...

-.-

I ain't no trendsetter

And I don't COPY trends

Have you ever felt as though every time you do something, many other people does the same as you like after a week or so?

Don't you feel as though you're being COPIED?

It's infuriating isn't it?

Like it's YOUR style and suddenly when ppl see how nice it looks on you, they start to copy too and claim it's them who thought of it.

Story #1:

I remembered there was this point of time when METAL waterbottles were the IN thing.

The story was that like one week before that trend set in, my aunt from switzerland bought me a METAL waterbottle. I was like O.O!! OOOOOHHH!!! nv see before leh!! sooo cooooool! waaa

So I brought it to school to "hao lian"= show off and all my friends were like going gaga over it.

one week later....

half the school had METAL waterbottles....

i was like WTF....

I swear nobody had metal waterbottles before that and metal waterbottles weren't out in the singapore market yet. (unless you are referring to thermal flask)

So I got pissed cuz i was no longer the MONOPOLIST =(

everyone had one too...

Thank goodness those bottles were kinda pricy at that point of time...

At least I WAS THE TRENDSETTER (or i thought i was)

So I started to NOT USE THAT BOTTLE since it was no longer special to me anymore and it started to dent cause i kept dropping it on the floor...

And about 2 months later, the bottles were not the IN thing anymore..

HAH!

anna's magical fingers..

anna like= new trend, anna don't like= no more trend

=P

Story #2

During my secondary school years, contact lenses were not really popular. Thus everyone who actually cared for their image and are short sighted would try their best to find the nicest pair of specs so that they won't look like a mega geek.

I was one of the more "hiao" ones so one fine day, I went to buy a new pair of specs. This time, instead of finding a pair of plain normal glasses, I decided to buy a pair of designer specs. It looked really "boomz". With 2 shades of orange and white stripes. Very unique.

For the 1st week, I received like 10 compliments from my friends. Apparently, they loved that pair of glasses.

1 week after my days of glory,

BOOM!!!!!

Half the school bought designer glasses

-.-

WTH TTM!!

Imagine my anger

rarrr

Story #3:

Like I said, during my secondary school years, contact lenses were not the IN thing yet.

So i decided to give it a shot

I bought contacts

For the first 3 weeks, I gained relatively more popularity and had alot of people complimenting me about how BIG my eyes were.

I was tickled pink

really happy

BUT!!!!!

few weeks after that,

People started to follow

slowly, 1/4 of the school started to wear contact lenses

Story #4:

Now that i'm in poly, trends are like soo mega important

no trends= no friends (hey! it rhymes!)

I wouldn't say 100% no friends

But it's the kind of friends you can hang out with

true?

So yea

As I was saying, just last year, there was this HUGE trend that went around the campus.

it

was

called
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
BANGS

YES

BANGS!

The traditional doll hair cut!

ever since I had that horrible hair cut, soo many other people followed.

I cannot say I AM the trend setter

But it seems soo coincident luh

and the best thing was

i hated that hair cut

I HATE BANGS!

it looks fucking ugly on me

i look cheena

and fugly

I seriously don't know WHY so many people had bangs

even people who were not from NP had bangs

People whom i associated with

WTH!

and bangs do not, i repeat, DO NOT suit everyone

Not everyone can have bangs and pull it off

here are some tips:

DO NOT TRY BANGS

DO NOT TRY BANGS

I promise you'll look super ugly

no offense though

bangs are for people who has a smaller and longer facial shape.

The bangs are meant to cover the SUPER LARGE forehead for people with long faces/high foreheads

UNDERSTAND NOW???

So please don't follow trends blindly, stay true to yourself and dress according to your OWN style.

Don't copy styles from others just because it looks nice on them.

You may regret especially if it is a long term decision

Also, I want to stress on FASHION

yes

Fashion is cool

Fashion is the super IN thing

BUT

Fashion WILL NOT LAST

So get clothes that will last so that you won't need to keep changing your wardrobe every 3 months

See?

Anna is soo nice

Giving you guys such valuable tips

FIND YOUR OWN STYLE AND STICK WITH IT

better still, you can jazz up your style with a bit of the current fashion

Take home sentence of the day,

Fashion comes and go, but style is forever
