The thin line between ARROGANCE and SHARING THE JOY

I hope that after you, or who ever here reads this will learn something important today and not behave like some idiot on the street that goes " YOU FUCKING ARROGANT" every time someone has something new and wants to share it.

So the reason why i'm writing this entry if because i've been receiving "feedbacks" that i have been too arrogant about certain things like $$$ , cars, houses etc...

Apparently, they felt that was bragging too much about my things.

SO I AM HERE TO CLARIFY THINGS

ARROGANCE V.S SHARING THE JOY

1) There is a VERY VERY THIN LINE between arrogance and sharing the joy. The characteristics of both are extremely similar. For instance, "OMG I FINALLY HAVE A NEW CAR!!!!!"

As you can see, this sentence can be deemed both arrogance AND sharing mainly because you are telling everyone you have a car.

It is very very hard to spot the difference here so what happens next is very important.

2) This part is very crucial. Being arrogant means you want to just tell every one what new stuff you've got and hopefully, people take notice of you and give you the attention you are hoping to receive. All you  want is to get attention and people saying how lucky you are yadah yadah yadah...

Don't get me wrong.

I am not saying that people sharing the joy don't want attention. Sure, we're all humans. We want attention, we want positive feedbacks and all. (That's why i say there is a thin line between the two!!)
But the ultimate difference is that WE DON'T JUST WANT ATTENTION, WE ALSO WANT TO SHARE THE EXPERIENCE WITH OTHERS)

For example,
My case.

Recently, I finally got my car. Obviously it is a very very big thing for me because I never expected to even own on at the age of 19. For the record, cars in Singapore are very expensive. A simple toyota sedan can cost up to SGD70,000. Almost as expensive as a BMW in the US.

So with my car, I obviously happily told my friends about the good news. Unfortunately, this sparked some jealousy and I got flamed being very arrogant. But the fact is...

ALL I WANTED WAS TO SHARE THE JOY

Honestly, the reason for having a car is to go from point A to point B. As simple as that.

Besides, I don't see myself as being arrogant mainly because I actually offered to drive my friends around or pick them up and stuff like that.

If I were arrogant, would I do that?

NO!

I would say "go fuck yourself! It's my car, not yours!"

Therefore, my verdict is....

I AM ONLY SHARING THE JOY WITH OTHERS, I AM NOT TRYING TO BRAG OR BE ARROGANT

period

AND TO ALL THE HATERS OUT THERE...
